Green ribbons dancing in the sky
A small group of children made their way through the snow towards a wooden house surrounded by thick snow-covered trees, but what joy despite the effort. The older child carried a long stick on the top of which was fixed a star. With Joy jumping in the fresh snow that reached his stomach, Will, curious, approached the cottage. The children were singing a Christmas carol in front of an elderly couple who had appeared at the door. When the song ended, the woman immediately disappeared into the house and returned with two trays, one with smoked salmon and the other filled with pancakes sprinkled with maple syrup! And, seeing Will with a hungry expression, the two elders also invited him to a snack, there in Alaska there was that tradition! Will in a flash, also with Joy's help, ate everything. But there was still something else in store for Will. In fact, John, this was the name of the man, once he learned that Will had been traveling for several days in search of happiness, decided to surprise him. He made him sit at home waiting for the night, a beautiful cold, dark and clear night. Then, together, they went outside and it was there that Will saw the most magnificent and magical natural spectacle of his life. Ribbons of green, cream and pink light unwound among the stars, chasing each other in spirals and shaded brushstrokes, radiating flashes, it was the Northern Lights dancing in the sky above him. Will felt, for the first time, a great silence inside him, there were no words and in any case they would not be enough. Maybe that was just the happiness but to be sure he had to get back on the road.
Scrub with maple syrup and spices
We'll prepare something deliciously sweet and nourishing for ... the skin! A scrub with maple syrup and spices, perfect for brightening the complexion and giving the skin a healthy and rejuvenated appearance thanks to the glycolic acid released by the whole sugar and the precious antioxidants of maple syrup (Li et al, J Agric Food Chem, 2010). In a bowl mix 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of jojoba oil, but you can also use any vegetable oils you have at home such as sunflower oil. Add as much brown sugar as needed to make a creamy mixture. Pour 1 teaspoon of maple syrup, 1 drop of cinnamon essential oil and two of sweet orange, mix and massage this scrub on your face for a couple of minutes. Then rinse thoroughly.
