The essential oil of melissa, common name Lemon Balm, has a powerful antiviral action together with important soothing and calming properties, for this reason it is useful in order to treat cold sores, cough, bronchitis, skin diseases or problems such as eczema or stretch marks. In addition to this, thanks to the digestive and sedative properties, this essential oil results very helpful in case of stomach spasms, indigestion, but also in case of nausea and headache or palpitations. Able to rebalance the hormonal system, the melissa essential oil can also give relief to various menopause symptoms such as hot flashes or, in case of heavy periods, it helps soothe the pain. Finally, from the emotional point of view, lemon balm essential oil is useful for those who suffer from insomnia, depression, anxiety and nervous breakdown.

Cold sores

Apply two drops of melissa essential oil directly on the cold sores that is forming, the herpes labialis should regress.

Headache, insomnia, anxiety

In case of headache or anxiety you can massage the side of your head with 2-3 drops of essential oil in order to soothe the pain. Then, against insomnia but also in order to give calm and balance you can diffuse the melissa essential oil in the room with an oil burner, a drop each square meter is good.

Digestive problems, cramps, spasms, heavy periods and menstrual cramps, menopause

In case of indigestion, poor digestion, stomach spasms, menstrual cramps or problems related to menopause you can use the lemon balm essential oil: this will help you reactivate the digestive functionalities, to relax the stomach and rebalance the hormonal system. Try to take 3 drops of lemon balm essential oil in a teaspoon of honey up to three times a day, but do not take more. In case of spasms or menstrual pain try to massage the part around the belly button: mix 5 drops of melissa essential oil and a plant-based oil, such as olive oil or sweet almond oil, and massage the part.

Eczema, skin problems

Mix two drops of melissa essential oil to your daily cream and apply, or you can mix two drops of a plant based oil such as wheat germ oil and massage the interested part.
