Salvia officinalis, sage, is a plant of the Labiate family. Rich in natural estrogens, that result very helpful in order to regulate the menstrual cycle and relieve the effects of menopause, sage is used to obtain an essential oil able to treat all the imbalances of the female genital tract, namely irregular or heavy periods, premenstrual syndrome but also hot flashes and irritability in menopause. From the emotional point of view sage essential oil is suitable to be used in case of nervous breakdown, it can awaken fantasy and inspiration. Sage essential oil is also able to treat asthma, alopecia, canker sores, stomatitis and inflammations of the gums, excessive sweating, however, avoid this essential oil during pregnancy, breastfeeding, in children or if you suffer from epilepsy. It is better, for all that use sage essential oil, to use sage essential oil at low doses.
Hormonal imbalances, menopause
Add a couple of drops of sage essential oil to a tablespoon of sweet almond oil and massage the body. This will result helpful in order to give a relief to problems related to hormonal imbalances such as cellulite, alopecia, water retention, premenstrual syndrome, menstrual cramps but also hot flashes of the menopause.
Inflammations of the gums, stomatitis, canker sores
In a glass full of water add 5 drops of sage essential oil and gargle, don’t drink.
Prepare steam inhalation by adding to a pot full of hot water 5 drops of sage essential oil.
Excessive sweating of the feet
If your feet sweat too much this can cause discomfort. A solution can be represented by sage essential oil. Prepare a foot bath by adding 15 drops of sage essential oil to a basin with hot water. Soak your feet for 15 minutes. Repeat every day.
Stress, nervous breakdown, creativity
You can diffuse the sage essential oil in the room, one drop each square meter, inhaling the aroma can be helpful in case of stress, anxiety, nervous breakdown. It gives calm and serenity and improves creativity.
