Dark chocolate to live longer and healthier

Chocolate is yummy, everybody can say this but, if we are speaking about dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa, it is also healthy. In fact, dark chocolate is really beneficial, it acts against stress, inflammations, improves mood, memory and immune system! This is the result of a study carried out by the scientific team of dr Lee S. Berk of the Loma Linda University, California, USA and proposed this year at the annual meeting Experimental Biology 2018 in San Diego.
Although it has long been known that dark chocolate contains antioxidants until now nobody had studied the real effect on humans of a dosage of cocoa contained in a bar, namely the dosage that can be easily taken by everybody in a normal diet. The research of dr Berk analyzed the effects of the intake of 48 g chocolate with 70% cocoa after 30 minutes and after two hours from eating and an increase of neuroplasticity with beneficial effect on behavior and brain health was observed. But cocoa is also able to regulate the immune system and acts as an anti-inflammatory substance with benefits on the health of the cardiovascular system.
According to the author of the study, dr Berk, other studies are needed in order to explain better the correlation between cocoa and brain on a large sample of population but, at the moment, the results are really interesting, for the delight of all the lovers of sweets!
