Ingredients

Ingredients for the dough

100 ml of vegetable milk

200 ml of apple juice with no added sugar

350 grams of semi-wholegrain wheat flour

150 grams of wholegrain wheat flour

One small glass of rum

Ingredients for the filling

500 grams of walnut kernels

1 organic orange

200 grams of raisins

40 ml of water

Cinnamon

Powdered cloves

Black pepper

Rinse the raisins and pour them into a saucepan with 40 ml of water. Cook over low heat until the raisins have absorbed all the water. Blend in a blender and set aside to cool. Chop the walnuts and pour them into a bowl. Combine the grated orange peel, the raisin puree, half a teaspoon of cinnamon, the tip of a teaspoon of powdered cloves and a grind of pepper, mix. Separately, in another bowl, mix the flour, vegetable milk, apple juice and rum until the mixture is smooth and homogeneous. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin so as to obtain rectangles of dough about 20 centimeters long, 10 wide and a few millimeters thick. Distribute the filling over the rectangles of dough, roll up to form cakes with a shape that resembles that of cigars, seal the ends. Arrange the cakes on a baking sheet covered with baking paper and bake at 180° C for 15 minutes, taking care to turn the desserts halfway through cooking.
