Stewed octopus with tomatoes

Spicy and tasty, colorful and joyful, here is the stewed octopus, a recipe that everybody will love. And this preparation is also healthy since it is a powerful source of antioxidants and anticancer substances, vitamins and mineral salts thanks to the action of cooked tomatoes and chili pepper. Finally, the octopus is a low calorie food but rich in proteins, thus resulting particularly satiating.

Ingredients for 4 persons

1 kg octopus
2 tablespoons of capers
4 tablespoons of pitted olives
1 shallot
500 grams crushed tomatoes
Chili pepper
1/2 glass of white wine
Sea salt
Extra virgin olive oil
Cook the octopus upside down in abundant salty water for 20 minutes, then let it cool down in the same water. Slice the shallot and sauté it in a frying pan with 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and two of water. Add the octopus cut into pieces. Pour the wine and let it evaporate. Add the capers, the olives and the crushed tomatoes. Cover the pan and cook for twenty minutes, if necessary add some ladles of water where you cooked the octopus. Finally, add a pinch of salt and chili pepper and serve.
