Birch can be used as diuretic in case of kidney stones, whose formation can be also prevented by the action of substances in the plant, renal colic, water retention and cellulite. Birch has also anti-inflammatory and febrifuge properties, it is a remedy to treat cold and can heal wounds and skin problems like irritations or acne. Birch is also supposed to protect the scalp and to slow hair loss.

Herbal tea

Leave to brew one tablespoon of birch leaves in a cup of water for about 10 minutes. It has diuretic action, helpful in case of kidney stones. Strain and drink up to two cups a day.

Decoction

Prepare a decoction by adding half a handful of birch bark to one liter of water, heat to boiling for a couple of minutes, then remove from heat and let stand for about 5 minutes, strain. Drink this for the febrifuge action. If you want a lotion against hair loss apply on the scalp this decoction and massage for long. You can also apply it on the sin in case of skin problems.

Glycerin macerate

Useful in case of inflammations, cellulite and water retention. Try to drink for a month in the morning and before breakfast a glass of water with 50 drops of birch glycerin macerate.
