It looks like a bushy shrub and from its young shoots a glycerin macerate with interesting healthy properties is obtained. The remedy has indeed an anti-catarrhal and mucus-thinning action, calms the cough and protects the liver. For this reason you can use this glycerin macerate to treat coughs and bronchitis, sore throat, tonsillitis, laryngitis, aphonia and hoarseness. The glycerin macerate is also used in case of problems related to the liver, the black-berried honeysuckle improves indeed its functioning, but the remedy results useful also in case of gout and hyperuricemia. For what concerns the use, you can take 50 drops of glycerin macerate in a glass of water, one to three times a day, a quarter of an hour before meals. You can benefit from the synergy with other glycerin macerates to make the effect of this remedy more powerful. In case of a sore throat, cough or aphonia the combination is with the glycerin macerate of Ribes nigrum, in case of hyperuricemia and gout is instead with the Fraxinus excelsior.
