Cercis siliquastrum, or Judas tree, is a plant belonging to the Fabaceae family. The tree has an important ornamental role since it is characterized by a copious, beautiful, intense pink blooming while the name, Judas tree, derives from the belief that it was right under this tree that Judas betrayed Jesus Christ. This plant is not only appreciated for its beauty but is also considered as a natural anti-thrombosis remedy and able to protect the microcirculation. Its buds are used to prepare the glycerin macerate that can be taken in case of arterial disease of the lower limbs, arteriosclerosis, conditions characterized by tendency to thrombosis but also to counteract water retention, swollen and heavy legs.
As for the dosage, the indications are 50 drops 3 times a day in a glass of water.
