Helycrisum has antihistamine, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and expectorant properties. It can be used in order to treat all the issues related to the respiratory tract. Helycrisum helps to get rid of catarrh, treats cough and the inflammations in the nasal mucosa. Helycrisum is also a remedy in case of trauma or skin issues such as cold sore (herpes simplex), psoriasis, sunburns and irritations.

Herbal tea

In case of cough, bronchitis, catarrh, asthma prepare a herbal tea with a tablespoon of helycrisum in a cup of boiling water for 10 minutes. Filter and drink 3-4 cups a day without food.

Mother tincture

In case of allergy you can take 20-30 drops in a glass of water three times a day before meals. The best effect is obtained by beginning the treatment with helycrisum a couple of weeks before the beginning of allergy and by continuing it until the end of the period and alternating it with Ribes Nigrum.

Decoction for external use

Boil a tablespoon of helycrisum in a cup of water for 5 minutes, strain and when it is warm, not hot, apply it on the skin in case of psoriasis and other skin illnesses, don’t wash. This method can also reactivate the blood flow, for this reason this can be used in case of cold hands and feet.

Essential oil

Helycrisum essential oil is useful in case of trauma and hematoma thanks to the anti-inflammatory, anticoagulant and cicatrizing effect. Try to mix 2-3 drops of helycrisum essential oil with a vegetable oil, for example olive oil, and massage on the part.
