Maple syrup is a syrup obtained from sap of sugar maple or black maple. It is used as a sweetener spread on the bread or added to herbal teas or yogurt. Maple syrup is rich in vitamins, especially those of B group, minerals such as potassium, calcium, zinc and manganese and antioxidants. Maple syrup has also a depurative effect : try to add a teaspoon of maple syrup to a glass of water, drink it before breakfast for a week.
