And not just any facial massage, but the Japanese Asahi massage, firming and elasticizing, which embodies ancient oriental wisdom. You can practice this massage in the evening, when you apply your serum oil, in order to allow your fingers to run over your face and make the product absorb better. Let's see how to practice Asahi massage, but first, let's try to understand what the science says about the benefits of facial massages.
Facial massage, what does science say
But what does science say about facial massage? Is this treatment really beneficial for the skin of the face? Studies have observed that facial massages are actually able to give a feeling of freshness, to keep the skin young and toned (Khanna et al, Int J Dermatol, 2002). Not only that, thanks to facial massages it is possible to delay the appearance of wrinkles, make the skin more elastic and the complexion brighter (Khanna et al, Int J Dermatol, 2002 - Lida et al, Ergonomics, 1995). But the benefits of facial massages do not end with the aesthetic aspect! In fact, facial massages also act on the emotional level, relaxing tensions and improving mood (Dubinskaya et al, Vopr Kurortol Fizioter Lech Fiz Kult, 2020). However, be careful, facial massages must be performed gently in order not to irritate the skin and cause the appearance of erythema (Khanna et al, Int J Dermatol, 2002). This is why, in addition to using gentle touches, it can also be helpful to use an oil designed for the face, non-comedogenic and anti-aging, also useful to maximize the anti-wrinkle and anti-aging action of the massage.
