Focusing again on the importance of the skin and its needs und understanding that the skin absorbs what is applied on it. Creams, serums, lotions, massage oils, sometimes they are prepared with effective and natural ingredients but often, unfortunately, with substances that do not bring real benefits or that can even be irritating if not dangerous. Sometimes it takes little to have a great cosmetic, by using what nature can offer us. As with dark skin spots, wrinkles and acne, also in case of cellulite and stagnation a lot can be done with a few simple ingredients.

The ingredients

There are very effective essential oils able to stimulate the breakdown of fat accumulations. This is thanks to their content in lipolytic molecules, which dissolve and break down fats. These molecules are, for example, p-cymene, limonene, octanal and gamma terpinene (Choi HS, J Agric Food Chem, May 2006). Therefore, for this purpose the essential oils of citrus fruits as well as the clary sage are very useful (Ali et al, Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine, Aug 2015). Then, there are essential oils with draining properties, so they can remove the accumulations and counteract stagnation. Patchouli and helichrysum are two examples of essential oils with this action.

Anti-cellulite lotion

Pour 50 ml of a plant based oil into a glass container, sweet almond oil is great for massages but you can also mix it with jojoba or sunflower seed oil. Add 20 drops of essential oil of helichrysum, 20 drops of essential oil of lemon and 5 drops of rosemary essential oil, which is anti-inflammatory (Ymam et al, Pharmacognosy Res., Oct 2017) and therefore useful to fight cellulite. In fact, this condition always arises from local inflammation. In the morning and evening apply this oil with a massage for a couple of minutes, massage in this way your thighs, hips and buttocks. Even a good massage is helpful against cellulite as it improves microcirculation and stimulates drainage (Dupont et al, Clin Cosmet Investing Dermatol, 2014).
