Chili pepper is rich in mineral salts like calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron, vitamins such as vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamins of group B, and, especially in case of fresh chili pepper, vitamin C, able to fortify the immune system. Chili pepper contains also flavonoids and capsaicin that gives the spicy flavor. The more spicy, the more capsaicin. According to recent studies, capsaicin has anticancer properties because it causes the death of cancer cells and hinders their nutrition. In addition to this, capsaicin has also anti-inflammatory properties and results very useful in case of rheumatoid arthritis. Capsaicin can also stimulate the gastric juices production, it is a vasodilator and helps to remove cholesterol, it is able to control the weight by burning fat and increasing satiety. Finally, chili pepper is also an aphrodisiac. Eat it fresh, added diced to food without heating it.
