Palming is a relaxation exercise, very simple to perform and suitable for everyone at any time of the day. Palming helps calm the mind and let go all tensions that can cause stiffness, stiff neck and headaches. But palming also helps to relax the eye muscles and counteract ocular fatigue, which can lead to dry, irritated, red eyes and blurred vision. The palming exercise can last from a few minutes to an hour, it depends on the time you have, but it will be so pleasant that you will soon look forward to practicing it!
Find a quiet place, sit or lie down. Rub your palms together to warm them.
Cupped hands over closed eyes, hands should not compress the eyeballs but rest on the cheekbones and above the eyebrows.
Imagine pleasant moving scenes, such as the waves of the sea, a field of wheat moved by the wind or the flight of birds. Occasionally, it can also be helpful to imagine black objects, such as a cat or a crow.
After practicing palming, open your eyes in the warmth of your hands, massage your head, neck and shoulders with your hands.
